Cuisenaire rods can be used as a quick and effective concept check when teaching tenses, particularly to demonstratite the difference between the present perfect and past simple. Students can be given pairs of sentences to compare by manipulating the rods themselves to represent actions/states in time. This is especiallity effective for tactile learners, gets across the 'connection to now' perfect aspect, and takes grammar learning to a new dimension. by Emma Sheri |
