I translate commercials which appear on Chinese television into English. Students do ‘fill-in-the-blanks ’ activities to focus on the language and then act out the commercial, trying to be as close to the original as possible. It’s fun, it’s useful language practice and students ‘revise’ every time they see the original commercial on television.
